Biography: Meet Kayode Egbetokun - The New IGP

Kayode Egbetokun, the newly appointed Acting Inspector General of Police, has taken the law enforcement world by storm. President Bola Tinubu appointed Egbetokun as the Acting Inspector General of Police, succeeding Usman Baba, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2021.

Born on September 4th, 1964, in the Egbado South Local Government Area of Ogun State, Kayode Egbetokun embarked on his journey in the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP (Course 16) on March 3, 1990. He pursued his education diligently, obtaining a BSc (ED) (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Lagos, an MSc in Engineering Analysis from the same university, and certifications in Electronic Data Processing and Computer Programming. He further pursued a Masters in Business Administration from the Lagos State University and a PGD in Petroleum Economics from Delta State University. Notably, he also holds a PhD in Peace and Security Studies from Al-hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State.

Throughout his esteemed career, Kayode Egbetokun has served in various capacities, leaving an indelible mark in the police force. Notable positions he has held include:
